Opportunity at a Glance
Arinco partnered with PEXA, a leader in digital property settlements, to halve device onboarding time and modernise endpoint management across its expanding global workforce. The organisation needed to replace fragmented management systems and manual processes with a scalable, secure platform capable of supporting rapid growth and hybrid work.
Arinco implemented a phased solution that centralised device management, streamlined application deployment, and strengthened security through automation and modern policy controls. The result is a single, cloud-based platform that enables PEXA to efficiently manage and secure every endpoint, supporting ongoing innovation, compliance and global expansion.
About PEXA
PEXA is a leading Australian property technology firm that operates a world-first digital property settlement platform, serving conveyancers, financial institutions and homebuyers in Australia and the UK. With operations supporting over 20,000 families each week, PEXA is committed to innovation, operational scale and secure digital infrastructure.
Business Challenge
PEXA’s growth across Australia and the United Kingdom placed new demands on its IT environment. With an expanding workforce and a diverse mix of devices, PEXA needed a unified, scalable approach to manage and secure endpoints consistently across Windows, macOS, iOS and Android.
Over time, multiple management tools and manual processes had emerged, making it increasingly difficult to maintain visibility, efficiency and compliance. Strengthening security across both corporate-owned and personally owned (BYO) devices was also important to support hybrid work and meet strict regulatory standards.
In addition, the IT team wanted to improve operational efficiency by streamlining device provisioning, application deployment, patching and policy enforcement, reducing manual effort and speeding up onboarding for new staff.
With Windows 10 approaching end-of-life, PEXA recognised the need to modernise its device management approach and adopt a cloud-based solution that could simplify operations, enhance security and visibility, and support a seamless migration to Windows 11 across its global workforce.
Arinco’s approach
Arinco partnered with PEXA to deliver a comprehensive, phased modernisation of its endpoint management environment.
Discovery and Design
Arinco began with discovery workshops to engage stakeholders, define requirements, assess the current state and design a tailored solution that aligned with PEXA’s global expansion and security goals.
Unified Endpoint Platform
The first phase focused on deploying Microsoft Endpoint Manager to unify management of Windows, macOS, iOS and Android devices from a single console. This included integration with Apple, Google and Samsung corporate accounts, providing centralised visibility and control across all devices. Arinco also implemented Cloud PKI for certificate-based authentication for corporate Wi-Fi and integrated Microsoft Universal Print with PEXA’s existing Papercut solution, allowing secure print-from-anywhere functionality for macOS and Windows 11 users.
Mobile Device and Application Management
To simplify device management and improve compliance, Arinco standardised policies for corporate-owned iOS and Android devices and migrated all iOS devices from JAMF to Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune).
To strengthen mobile security, Arinco implemented Mobile Application Management (MAM) and conditional access policies to protect data and enforce compliance for both corporate-managed and BYO devices. This rollout extended secure access to approximately 1, ensuring consistent protection across the hybrid workforce.
MacOS Migration
All PEXA macOS devices were migrated from JAMF to Intune uApple Automated Device Enrolment, ensuring consistency across operating systems.
Windows 11 Modernisation
For Windows environments, Arinco conducted a comprehensive assessment, design and pilot for Windows 11 migration, leveraging device analytics, compatibility checks and a phased rollout strategy. As a result, 1,800 Windows 10 devices were upgraded to Windows 11 and transitioned to an Entra ID-joined, cloud-managed standard operating environment ahead of the Windows 10 end-of-support deadline.
Automation and Team Enablement
Finally, Arinco introduced automated application lifecycle management using PatchMyPC, significantly improving the consistency of software deployment and patching.
The team also delivered comprehensive documentation and hands-on training to PEXA’s IT and operations teams, ensuring they could confidently manage and evolve the new environment going forward.
Outcomes and impact
This project delivered a unified, efficient and secure endpoint management platform that positions PEXA for continued growth and innovation.
Key outcomes include:
- 50% faster onboarding: Devices can now be shipped directly to users pre-configured via Microsoft Autopilot, cutting setup time and enabling rapid scale.
- Automated operations: Deployment and patching for 200 applications now run automatically through PatchMyPC, reducing manual effort and improving consistency.
- Simplified management: A single, cloud-based console now manages all endpoints, reducing administrative overhead and improving visibility.
- Enhanced security: Consistent compliance and security policies now protect all device types, including BYO devices.
- Cloud-first resilience: Leveraged Microsoft Endpoint Manager, Cloud PKI and Universal Print to strengthen security while minimising on-premises infrastructure dependencies.
- Cost savings: Eliminated separate JAMF and ManageEngine licensing by consolidating into Microsoft Endpoint Manager under existing M365 E3 licensing.
- Accelerated Windows 11 adoption: Upgraded 1,800 Windows 10 devices to Windows 11 through a structured assessment, design and pilot rollout.
- Seamless Apple migration: Migrated 200 macOS and 15 iOS devices from JAMF to Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune) using Apple Automated Device Enrolment.
- Improved mobile access: Rolled out MAM and conditional access policies to 1for secure access on both managed and BYO devices.
- Future readiness: Established a cloud-managed endpoint environment that enables automation, analytics and AI-driven insights for continued optimisation.
