Scenario
An independent software vendor (ISV) had been a heavy user of Azure services for a significant period, however, they were primarily utilising ‘classic’ deployment models. This was contributing to ongoing issues with performance, observability, security and technical debt.
Solution
Working closely with the Microsoft engineering team, Arinco assisted the customer in moving their core application into the ‘modern Azure platform’, leveraging some of the newest technologies available in Azure to build an industry leading solution.
Being an application that services hundreds of thousands of customers across Australia, performance and observability was critical to its success. By moving their platform to utilise technologies across Azure App Services, Azure Cloud Services, Azure SQL Database, Azure Event Hubs, Azure Front Door, Azure Application Insights and Azure Log Analytics, Arinco was able to bring in unparalleled telemetry and insights into their application that they previously did not have.
To further strengthen and secure their platform, Arinco worked with their team to also start rearchitecting their infrastructure to utilise Azure Private Link to Azure SQL and other PaaS services to remove unnecessary public endpoints and scope the network traffic to a secure boundary.
