Overview
Arinco helped Sunshine Loans consolidate multiple Microsoft 365 tenants into a single environment, enabling seamless collaboration and reducing operational complexity. Sunshine Loans was operating across multiple disconnected environments, limiting productivity and increasing administrative overhead. Arinco delivered a coordinated tenant-to-tenant migration, combining content, identity and collaboration workloads using a mix of migration tooling and purpose-built automation. This provided Sunshine Loans with a simplified, scalable Microsoft 365 environment and a consistent digital workplace.
About Sunshine Loans
Sunshine Loans is an Australian consumer lending business providing financial solutions to individuals across the country.
Business challenge
Operating across multiple separate Microsoft 365 tenants created barriers to collaboration and added complexity for both users and IT teams.
Consolidating these environments introduced additional complexity, particularly in maintaining continuity for users while transitioning data, identities and configurations into a live production environment. Users needed uninterrupted access to email and collaboration tools, while data and configurations were accurately transferred. Maintaining continuity, minimising disruption and ensuring consistency across users and systems were critical to success.
Sunshine Loans required a carefully managed approach that would unify environments while maintaining business continuity and ensuring a smooth transition for users.
Solution
Arinco delivered a coordinated tenant consolidation for Sunshine Loans, bringing together content, identity and collaboration services into a single Microsoft 365 environment. The approach combined proven migration tooling with purpose-built automation to deliver a controlled, low-risk transition while maintaining continuity for users and enabling collaboration across the new environment.
Migrating content at scale
Arinco used AvePoint Fly to migrate Teams, SharePoint and mailbox content from multiple source tenants into the primary Sunshine Loans environment. Content was mapped to the correct destinations, and staged synchronisation ensured source and target environments remained aligned throughout the migration. This ensured a controlled cutover while minimising disruption to day-to-day operations.
Automating identity and configuration
To support a consistent and reliable migration, Arinco developed purpose-built automation to manage identity updates and configuration changes across both on-premises Active Directory and Microsoft 365. This included updating email addresses and aliases, as well as preserving delegate permissions, distribution lists and shared mailbox configurations.
All changes were validated through dry-run execution prior to implementation, providing clear visibility of expected outcomes and allowing issues to be resolved in advance. This approach reduced risk and ensured users retained access and functionality throughout.
Ensuring continuity during cutover
With multiple source tenants in scope simultaneously, managing coexistence was a critical part of the engagement. Arinco carefully coordinated domain transitions and identity updates in stages, enabling users to remain productive across both source and target environments throughout the migration window.
This approach ensured Sunshine Loans’ users could continue accessing email and collaboration tools while migration activities were underway, maintaining business continuity and delivering a seamless cutover experience.
