An independent software vendor was undergoing an initiative to re-platform their key application service from an on-premises hosted solution to one hosted on the Azure Cloud. As part of this initiative they were looking for an experienced Microsoft partner to review their logical architecture, advise on improvements, complete the design and execute its implementation into Azure in a production-ready state quickly and securely.
Solution
Arinco leveraged its Azure Done Right Accelerator to help accelerate implementation of an Azure ‘Governed and Secure’ cloud environment focusing on the following areas:
Configuration details specifically around overall security controls and governance (ISO27001 standards)
Configuration of Azure Governance and Standards (e.g. subscription management, policy controls, RBAC models, cost reporting)
Automation, DevOps approaches and CI/CD pipelines
Recommend patterns and configuration for each of the components required (e.g. Azure Web Apps, Azure SQL etc.) that make up a ‘modern, cloud-native’ solution
Outcomes
In less than 8 weeks, this customer had a productionised Azure environment ready and hosting their cloud re-platformed application. Other great outcomes included:
Demonstrated early assessment value with targeted quick-win and short-term remediation tasks to unblock deployments and production rollout
Identified several security improvements required in their Azure Platform to ensure a secure, enterprise-grade production deployment
Opened up the Azure Cloud platform for further capabilities and future Cognitive Services integrations into their application
